OurLocals started with a simple frustration. The gap between the raw data of Google Maps and the expensive, London-centric editorial of the big food guides left local cities without a proper voice.

Portsmouth, Southampton, Brighton, Winchester — brilliant food cities with brilliant independent restaurants — were treated as afterthoughts by the national guides and overwhelmed by chains and paid placements on the directories.

So we built something different. A curated guide that actually reflects how locals eat and drink. Not an algorithm, not a listing service — a genuine recommendation from someone who has actually been there.
